Look at the opportunity cost
If we are coming from the assumption that using something like porn whenever one gets an urge has no negative impact whatsoever on someone’s desire to have an intimate relationship and also no negative impact on their standards if/when they do seek that out…
…and that person happens to be single, let’s also assume they are single only because they want to be, and not because of any other factors or insecurities
Ok, but what if they’re wrong, and decide at some future point they are not happy and link it to feeling lonely. What might they have passed on? Meeting a possible amazing future gf or wife?
Now what if they decide to pass on brief hedonistic pleasure for some period of time. What opportunity will they have lost. Porn will always be there, waiting for them
One costs nothing to pass on, one can cost quite a lot
