Yes exactly! But those people still deserve to be able to not live in abject poverty, even IF they dont have a desire to improve upon their situation, wouldnt you agree (with the expectation that you need to contribute to society if able bodied)? No one is promoting for people to get paid for sitting on their ass, and if you believe that you are wrong.
Thats what the policy platform of the left is - its not free handouts, its simply allowing people to live in dignity and not be exploited by large corporations who dont want to pay a living wage.
Again, if people have the motivation to want to move beyond that baseline quality of life, they need to have the opportunities to do so, would you also agree?
