The risk\benefit analysis is definitely a totally different question for the elderly. I mean, the median age of a covid death is *older* than the average life expectancy. It overwhelmingly kills the elderly, both because of advanced age but also because the longer you've been alive the more likely you are to have comorbidities. My parents are both vaxxed and I'm glad they are. But when I see my nephew wearing a mask and I start to forget what he actually looks like, all so that he doesn't get the sniffles, I do start to wonder what the hell we're doing and what we actually value.
