I went on that rant a while back where said I think that you could rack up all the statistics, and prove that there is: more death, more sickness, more tragedy, in the system we have built of progress, medicine, and science, than there would be if we lived as animals eating fruit and veg and dancing and laughing.
To bad stupid god made 1 of the veg unravel the whole god damn thing... if he made it a friggen cute rabbit insated of an apple (which is the food she's supposed to eat in the first place) I bet that bitch wouldn't have took a bite of it.

I agree with some of what you have said, and as much as criticize government I like human beings on the whole. However, I think the main reason is there's more death is that there are far more humans alive now than there have ever been... I guess as far as we can know.
I mean, imagine how many mothers would die in childbirth if it weren't for modern medicine. Or we revert to antibiotics just not working, which I have read is generally on the way due in part to overuse of antibiotics in mass meat farms or whatever they are called. Some of this stuff is perfectly preventable, it's just not profitable (enough) to prevent.
I like society. I would not do well as a primitivist, wouldn't live real long. I have made my own prison hooch though!
Also, another suggestion if you have not seen it: Beforeigners. I don't want to spoil in case you have not, but subjects we both talk about come up and it's well written.
