Back in the original days (99), me and a few friends had the very real belief that the angle you had a mob lined up in your viewport in first person view affected your hit rate.
My dumbest moment was as a level 5 ranger, jumping on a convo with a higher level char (15 or so, who was a god at the time) for a march from Qeynos to Freeport. Getting lost, losing the group, running into Neriak thinking it looked interesting, and losing my corpse forever. That was a delete and restart the char.
