This is the video that causes confusion. That yahoo article is also a bit suspect. Most of the firearms seized have some sort of qualification to it.

If you want to hang your hat on this article, go right ahead but anyone with a grain of credibility can see that this is hardly a slam dunk on the claim that this was some uber violent armed insurrection.

Its buzzfeed so the images the rioters took of themselves and the other images of the guys packing guns, axes, tomahawks, knifes, and bats etc were all photoshopped or "agitators"
They thought they were going to be pardoned and rewarded for their heroic action lol. If they didnt think that, why do they keep saying "we thought we were the good guys" during the police interviews?
