It’s also about the state of the economy. I forgot where I saw where some organization had collected years of polls and compared to various parts of the economy and presented them side by side but the correlation seemed so strong. It could have been how the data was presented, but it seemed to demonstrate that presidential popularity is very strongly linked to the current economy
And yes what makes this possibly unfair is that the economy can be a function of a previous President and many other global factors
