I think the heart issue related to the vaccine is that it was causing a specific type of heart inflammation in otherwise young healthy people (and notably *NOT* in older people). So, that's in *addition* to the normal background rate of young healthy athletes coming down with other heart conditions.
Of course they claimed you had more of a chance of getting that type of heart inflammation from covid itself, but I'm not aware of any actual exhaustive studies on which is more likely. But we do know that you can still get covid even if you're vaxed, so would you then have even *more* of a risk of heart issues? Like would the vaccine heart risk and the straight up covid itself heart risk compound eachother?
