LOL TR... come on here. The issue is clearly that you are making things tougher on the devs/guides to promote server health/growth, yet your spin/misdirection is merely "Stop policing our guild web page!!"?
As it was pointed out above, Uthgaard didn't go there randomly to check things out. The link was posted for everyone to see, and because you guys can't control your irritating need to perpetuate the appearance of favoritism or "having an in", now the staff has to deal with the inevitable questions and accusations from others on the server.
In fact, you're only making it tougher on yourselves, as it is going to be more difficult for the guides/GMs to decide on anything in your favor without furthering the perception of favoritism on the server. As the old saying goes... perception is 90% of reality. Or something like that. Throw some high percentage in there.
Just off the top of my head, you've got Xzerion as a dev. He doesn't even try to hide it. Shit, at least make a forum dev name different than your play name and at least be subtle about it.
Then, playing off that fact, you proudly announced on your guild recruitment thread that players with GM/guide/dev accounts are preferred... although a joke, it's essentially flaunting the fact you've got Xzerion in your guild. Doesn't really do wonders for perceptions about the server, possible inside info, etc.
Some sketchiness around a mob being added in Permafrost by Xzerion right after a rival guild staged there to camp/kill Vox. The timing was just very suspect on that zone modification. At least wait a few weeks to add the mob there, you know?
Some more sketchiness around a rival guild beating you to Vox by poopsocking it, only to have your raid force mysteriously disappear from the zone before it spawned as a banishing version (granted, Rogean admitting to spawning it that way for the lulz, but on any other raid encounter, you would have been breathing right down the other guild's necks trying to outpull them or watch to see if they failed.)
Now, making it appear as if TR got invited to some sort of closed-beta test of VP to "work out all the bugs".
Really, guys? Can you be less blatant about the perception you're trying to create in direct contrast to the reality that the staff is trying to promote here? At least understand that having a dev in your guild has a certain responsibility attached to it, and understand the damage you do when you leverage perceptions that you have the inside track on the server. Whether anything improper happens behind the scenes or not is unfortunately irrelevant -- it's more about what the server population is led to believe, through their own observations or through your own flaunting.
