I dislike the open Hunger Games style of PvP where you can be randomly ganked just because some aresehole decides ruining your play session is fun for him.
If there was a way to enable PvP such that there were disincentives to roleplay homicidal maniacs I think more people would become interested.
Using PvP to resolve in-game issues... I can get behind role play reasons for PvP.
Stuff like hard-coded bounties on killers, or death warrants issued by NPCs authorising PvP against a particular character. Important new faction hits maybe.
