There should be an epilogue with Zack and Aerith in the promised land. That'd take the sting out of it. I guess it all would lose its impact.

Aerith’s attraction to Cloud is partly because Cloud has so many of Zack’s mannerisms and the same eyes (from being poisoned by Mako)
