U should try imagining a river.

When u have a thought just pretend it's a flower floating down the rivers surface and watch it floating away. If you keep having the thought. Without judgment just place the thought back on the river. If you're angry at doing that, place that thought on the river.

Don't try to control your thoughts. Just place them on the river and watch as they float away.
