Hey I'm not personally a fan of the harsh treatment, but we don't need another heavy handedly moderated forum where everyone has to think the same thing and be 100% nice all the time or get the axe (which is what happened to the somethingawful forums).
Fact is she *did* bash the staff which is pretty explicitely against the rules. To my knowledge I dont think mblake ever wanted her banned, meanwhile she was demanding that he be banned. I'm pretty against banning unless it's a violation of a clear, specific rule, like staff abuse. These people are volunteering to make everything happen.
