Contrarian is just the opposite of dogmatic. Both are bad.
The correct path is logic, reason and critical thinking. And skepticism, but the first person you should be skeptical of is yourself.

Just please do make sure that "skepticism" is grounded in material, scientific knowledge, or it will very easily be misused by authority. Without any basis to cross-reference, Occam's Razor appears to side with the mouth of authority every single time. Basic scientific knowledge is, frighteningly often, enough to dismantle consensus opinions that idiots labor over on television for literal years.
Remember when I gave you the correct scoop on COVID on Day 1? My "useless degree" allows me to do this. And what do you know, I can give you more accurate and actionable health information about COVID than Anthony Fauci. DO stay in school.
As a long-time "skeptic" in the Steven Novella sense (yes, I grew up listening to Skeptics Guide To The Universe and i wrote them stupid letters rebecca watson read on the show lol) I am pretty disgusted with where the Skeptic Movement ended up, and how handily it has been turned to the licking of boots and just basically being another networking venue for climbers who do little thinking.
Yes, Patriam. Literally. XDDDDD
So I am kinda down on "skepticism" as a word and feel liek it needs sort of an asterisk. But it is of course the way. Gabless.
