If you arent in a CH chain or taking CH's from one cleric every moment it's available the fungi is BIS.

Not sure I'm going to agree there. Vindi BP has AoB, which is BiS for +Attack if you aren't tanking. Not everything AEs, and it still has regen and much, much, MUCH better resists/stats than fungi.
