yep i agree, i kinda dont ant to be creamated (not 100% sure on this) and i want to decompose into the myciliea and sediment and bacteria of the earth so that my genome is forever bound up in the plant and animal life and biota and crystaline structure of sediments and minerals for miles and miles i think it's a great life hack, but obviously i personally won't remember any of this life, but in essence what made me who i am now will survive and the next iteration would dominate essentially because we are quite badass motherfuckers
i think it's more about just ensuring enough diversity for the hominid form to continue and that most 'alien cultures' have lost the ability to reproduce sexually through their technological and space faring transmutation and time dialation brings them back to a world in which this is essentially possible again and they need enough material to re-bread with because eventually they need sexual reproduction even tho we can get away without it for a really long time
also there's that whole spirit ghost thing which no one ever talks about and haunting and stuff and so maybe we just need some remains for our spirits to regrow bodies (oh ya the problem with that is it isn't ascension it's like staying in this world rather than moving on to the next) i'm not saying haunting rocks is a good thing necessarily and maybe something done out of neccescity or a fear or alien sex.
