Bin laden was filthy rich yet *chose* to live in a cave. Some people just believe insane things, but they don't see them as insane. When they honor-kill a woman for getting raped, they see it as merciful. When they throw a gay man off a rooftop, they see that as merciful. The 9\11 hijackers were all extremely well educated. Beliefs are powerful.
