I find it strange that folks would recommend the older, less populated server, where almost everyone has several level 60s and there is almost no play below 60. I guess, if you are interested in just the raiding game, and want to get to that ASAP, then Blue would be fine.
But if you want to enjoy the journey and want groupmates along the way, the Green server has a signficantly higher population, especially in those lower levels. The logical choice is to choose the newer server with the higher population, I would think.
At least, I chose Green six months back, in the same situation, and I have not regretted it.
