Nefesh: the Hebrew word for Soul.
Two parts:
Ne
And
Fesh
In the proto-indo-european language Fesh evolved to mean "to give birth; to fall"
And the prefix "ne" generally means "Not", whilst it's reverse "en" used as a suffix means "make to possess the quality of" such as in the word Light-en; fright-en etc
In the Arabic, "Fesh" describes sand that appear solid, but behaves as mud.
Strangely enough, if you remove the vowel in Fesh; FSH this is the Hebrew word for "Fish" and the letter "N" (Nun) is said to represent faithfulness and the reward for faithfulness
