Ask to install it on his computer so you can 'show him' project 1999 and run him around a few areas that you used to play in. Leave it on his computer and tell him how to get an account. Then once in a while when you go over to his place show him something else you've seen or done since you were there last. If he is interested enough to eventually play, he should be interested enough to have you show him stuff you are doing.
