I wasn't accusing cops of being thiefy. Civil asset forfeiture rly only effects rich ppl who actually have property tho. So not really a problem for the people upset cops have the authority and power to help protect them from psychotic knife wielding scumbags (such as myself, I've been in that category).
I would rather be dead from a jumpy rooky or angry lazy old mean guy not wanting to risk another 20 stitches or maybe lucky mortal slash than have someone else hurt from me going rabid and feral.
But most cops don't suck that bad, and we can improve that without destroying civil society. Or making cops suffer.

Ya, I appreciate someone with a reasonable perspective. There are around 80 million police interactions occurring in the USA every year, and sometimes this figure includes many interactions occurring with the same career criminals committing the same crimes, antagonizing police as they get arrested, over and over, and not being assaulted or killed in response. I guarantee none of the people critical to police here would be able to handle people calling them the worst names they can think of, spitting in their faces, trying to hit and bite them, and keep a clear head in the process. But most cops do just that
And when reform comes, it’ll be the women that suffer, sadly. Female cops need to use choke holds and deadly force more often than men because they are more likely to be overpowered by their male suspects. And removing their ability to use chokeholds or deadly force means more dead female cops. And trying to replace cops with social workers, most of which are diminutive-sized women, means more assaulted social workers
As cop hatred from liberal programming continues, more and more cops will retire early, more and more people won’t want to become cops, which will result in police departments having to use even LOOSER standards for hiring resulting in even worse people becoming cops. And as more quit or retire, the cities become increasingly more crime ridden and unsafe. So then everyone suffers. It’s happening in many big cities and predominately black areas already
