I think surgical status makes a much more compelling argument and if the trans lady is really, really pretty it doesn't matter anyways. The biggest issue is how self-assured the guy is, and frankly I don't think most men are strong enough to deal with the social stigma of having a trans partner. Again, it helps if she's hot.
