Actually, while the staff has said very little about what custom content might actually mean, one of the very few things they have thrown out (as a possibility) was adding some AA abilities. However, it would only be a select few of them (not most), and they wouldn't be implemented as a reward for experience (ie. Luclin-style). Instead, you would get your AA by doing some sort of "epic quest" for it.

I thought there was a newer quote about this from either Rogean or Nilbog, but I couldn't find it, so here's an old one from 2013 from Nilbog:

Slay undead for example was a great, class-specific ... AA? Weak. It could be something like an epic quest with the same outcome. Mindlessly grinding a level 51 equivalent experience bar is not what I have in mind :T

But to be fair, only a couple years before that we had Rogean saying he didn't think P99 would ever get any AAs (in any form, although he did acknowledge the idea of other custom content) ... so hopefully someone else can find their more recent quote on the topic.

And whatever R/N have said, they've never really committed to anything ... and whatever custom content is coming is likely years away ... but the point is, some AA's do at least seem to be on the table (>0% chance).
