Recently had a patient with multi vessel disease, abnormalities in both ventricles, hyperlipidemia, hypertension, obesity, pack a day 40 year smoker. PCI didn't go well. We had to put him on ecmo+impella. Long story short this dude destroyed his body over a lifetime, but since he received his covid vaccine a couple of weeks prior, people found this relevant. It's like everyone is living on another planet. I don't know if I actually realized how fucking stupid people are until about the middle of last year, and it just keeps getting worse.

Saw a bunch of these in my visit. Bodies bloated like a whale’s corpse. Think they are a saint - claiming to only have ‘a little tipple (alcoholic drink)’ at night, claiming they only weight ten stone (despite clearly being huge) and so on? Basically 60+ years old and convinced they have the body/lifestyle of an active socialite in their 20s.
