I'm not even really following this conversation, but I say something to this effect all the time when people that know my financial situation ask me why I still work so much so it caught my eye. I just don't think I was born to be idle. Lowkey wealth and local philanthropy have been my aspirations since I was something like 19 or 20. I always wanted to go back to the shithole of a town I grew up in and make it better for the kids that have to grow up there because it had little to offer the youth. It was a hard road to reach those goals and it took about 15 years of busting my ass because I started with less than $1,000 in my bank account and a job at Applebee's. I do have to admit that I'm an outlier in my circles of successful acquaintances and friends as far as those goals go.
