It was cool and rainy that day.
Put the worlds elite runners up against the best horses on a sunny day in 70+ degree temps over 26.2+ miles and the horses won't stand a chance...like not even close. The gap widens as the mileage increases.
What would compel humans to do this is beyond me...but here we are today:
I'd rather race at 20 degrees than 80. Hot blooded I suppose.
Side note: that first dudes time was really good, given it wasn't a road course.
