imo its ok to be anorexic if ur suffering from a chronic illness that won't let u build muscle, better to be skinny and sick than 300lb and sick

This has been hotly debated in the fitness community but generally proven as not true
There are two kinds of cardio, including for running: high intensity and steady state. Steady state means running at a pace which is usually around 60% or so of someone’s max pace. And high intensity means running at a max pace, then taking a break, then repeat
As long as someone is taking in enough EXTRA calories to compensate for those burned in steady state cardio, even distance running (within a reasonable distance), there should be no loss of muscle. I have been able to make steady progress on leg muscle size while still running 3 miles at a time, 4 times per week
This is not true for HIT cardio however. Due to the high demands on the body, this type can and WILL directly impede muscle growth done via lifting, even with enough calories to compensate the expenditure, due the the extra tearing being done to muscle fibers. But for elite sprinters that only do sprints as their source of exercise, or else space out leg strength exercise appropriately, they can still develop their leg muscles well
