Sounds crazy, but you can suck on something like a button, and it'll really help with having something in your mouth. And it's a lot like chewing, it tricks your stomach into thinking you're eating things

Yeah I could def see that

As far as snack goes, anything that crunch leaves you extra satisfied so carrots are great, pretzels are also great. Anything too sugary might increase your cravings, avoid!

Damn props to your willpower being able to snack on carrots. I couldn’t do that
For years I have forced myself to eat a full plate of steamed veggies (broccoli, cauliflower, carrots, corn, peas mix usually) every single night. It tastes like ass. Always. I call it my “medicine” and I just force it down. When I had coronavirus last year I was expecting to lose my sense of taste and smell since that was an extremely common symptom. I remember thinking “I’m going to eat even MORE veggies than I usually do, because I won’t be able to taste them. I’m going to eat veggies all fucking day!” So a few days into the virus I made a plate of veggies during the day. Started eating them, tasted just as shitty as they always did. Turns out I was one of the few who never lost taste and smell with the virus

I never was big on pretzels but I snack on nuts. I get those habanero flavored almonds and some lightly salted mixed nuts. It’s a healthy kind of fat but high calorie, so it’s easy to go too hard on them. I try to only do a small handful in a day
