Sounds crazy, but you can suck on something like a button, and it'll really help with having something in your mouth. And it's a lot like chewing, it tricks your stomach into thinking you're eating things.
As far as snack goes, anything that crunch leaves you extra satisfied so carrots are great, pretzels are also great. Anything too sugary might increase your cravings, avoid!
