How well do the 2jz engines actually work day to day? Mere strength doesn't necessarily impress. I have bad memories of stuff like GM's Northstar, which was quite strongly built--derived from racing engines--and perfectly capable of withstanding very high outputs....but which was also a POS for street cars due to problems like head bolt separation and excessive carbon buildup. That engine, by itself, probably sealed Cadillac's fate during the late 90's and 00's.
