It's the same argument I have about consoles and mobile phones. Convenience that ultimately robs the very interest I have in messing with the thing is self defeating. It's madness to continue if I like it. [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.]
...Not to mention most EVs coincidentally happen to be rolling surveillance systems. Teslas are so bad in that respect they even make the camera-loving Chinese uncomfortable. I have no interest in ever buying or owning a car that spies on everything I do. I'll buy a horse and buggy first. I have nothing against electric motors. Railroads have been using them to good effect since the WW2 era. Anything with a battery in it will always suck, though. I don't care how fast an electric car can go. Out in the real world all cars go the same speed anyway because they're all limited by the same traffic laws. I'll be happier when they can run the same distance and refuel as quickly and not suffer crippling worn-out battery replacement cost in not a lot of years.

Quality-wise, thread isn't really "what have you owned?" Well, at least not for everyone. The wife and I have owned Buicks, Cadillacs, and the odd Lincoln most of our lives but I wouldn't regard any of them as the best-quality builder. Rather, I accept owning a lesser-quality vehicle if it's something I actually want to sit inside as opposed to driving around in a well-built sardine can that I detest. I can live with turning a ratchet once in awhile.
