Our long-term interest is to form a one-world government in the style of a constitutional representative republic like the US. Our short-term interest is to convert or conquer any entities opposed to that. Humanity can never accomplish anything significant unless it's united. Leaving other people alone to do what they want is a recipe for mass murder.

As anyone who has been around for any length of time knows, most people are stupid, selfish, and very easily led. Half the countries on Earth are run by evil corrupt despots who care for nothing but power. The United States is not interventionist enough! If I was running things Earth would already be united and anyone who disagreed would be living inside a smoking crater.
