They have a right to vote, but requiring an official state ID to vote is simply a more secure system than not. There is no denying this. I understand why states offer alternatives, but these undeniably make it easier to cheat, on a factor based on how lax these requirements are

To offer a flip side of the coin, the thing that system does well, is penalize cheating: “ harsh criminal penalties, including up to 5 years in prison and a fine of up to $10,000 for citizens and possible deportation for non-citizens”

No if’s and’s or butt’s about it, that is a stiff penalty. That alone will dissuade a lot of motive to cheat. But security is still important
