i don't need metaphors, i've sampled just about every liqour imaginable, had to read all sorts of books on wine and liqour and beer for distillation and fermentation, aging: cask, type of water, ingredients used, even if it was indoors in a cellar or aged where the air could get to it. I know all that shit. Doesn't mean it makes sense.
