In any case, a blended scotch is just rotgut, and only fit to get you drunk if you're a fucking transient. I don't care what color the label on your Johnny Walker is, it's fucking blended and therefore shit.

A good single malt however..

..but you have to sip it. It's not about getting buzzed, it's about the flavors that are awakened when it's enjoyed properly, and the warm feeling it gives you after enjoying it for several minutes. If you want a buzz, drink vodka or Jack. If you want to look like a pretentious asshole that doesn't know his asshole from his elbow, DRINK expensive scotch.

If you want a truly unique and beautiful experience, learn to appreciate the proper method of drinking a fine single malt scotch whiskey.

You have to slurp it ever so delicately, so that you're not pouring it in your mouth, but rather aerosolizing it into your palate. Immediately after you take your sip, you breath in the vapors created by the alcohol evaporating on your tongue. It is here, and only here that the true flavors of scotch come alive. Breath in for a long time slowly, allowing the vapors to occur and travel back through your palate into your lungs. You shouldn't ever need to swallow a fine scotch if you're drinking it properly, because it should all vaporize on your tongue. Every drop you swallow is completely wasted.

If you just drink it, you may as well be drinking some $5 blended scotch, coz you're not going to get anything good out of it.

I'll try this when I'm not shooting it because I love the burn and the aftertaste it leaves in large quantities.

I kid, I'd never shoot anything above generic Jameson. At the same time I'd never sip it that damn slowly either. A thin liquid layer that lightly coats the back of the throat if you swallow...then a deep breath, maybe with smoke in it.
