I won't go into details but the only way to fix this is to love your neighbor and realize that you are both being sold down the river by the big bad man.

I think the easiest way to think of it as everyone is unknowingly working for the alien race of human devourers like in the tv show LEXX.

If you just love the few people you bump into and they love the few people they bump into, we will all be OK.
