I find this post very curious. After one of my /ooc messages last night in game, you spoke to me in tells privately, asking if I was a certain person you knew IRL. To make this a bit clearer: you had seen my public /ooc for Full Circle. You had spoken to me in tells and I had been polite/responsive, so you had the opportunity to raise the questions directly with me.
Even though you had already commenced a conversation with the guy doing the "bad thing" you dislike, you chose to go public? So be it.
- As Rania says, we have spoken with several people in Mostly Harmelss and are discussing a merger. There's more to this, but lets just say its in motion.
- We are advertising for one reason only - we haven't seen Mostly Harmless advertise ONCE. Not a criticism, just a statement of fact. So we advertise instead - to let aussies know they're not alone, before they "suck it up and join an american guild".
- If for some reason the merger falls through (hey, murphy's law - nothing is guaranteed yet), we'll need our own guild player base. If the merger doesn't fall though, Full Circle recruitment is largely equivalent to Mostly Harmless recruitment and we're just doing the work for MH's HR department anyway [You must be logged in to view images. You "regret slightly" bringing this up in public. You're "not the type to normally go rushing to a public forum", but you did...even though you'd already been speaking with the originator of the message that offended you. You "realise there may have been better ways to bring this up". You admit you may be "some ... newbie that didn't bother to get his facts straight". Not much I think I should respond to, except...
You say we're doing this 'under the guise of "keeping the Aus/NZ community together"' - check out
www.ausmmo.com.au - we've been trying to do this for a while now, across all guilds, games, etc. Even to the point of offering free hosting for aussie guilds who want it. "under the guise" is downright offensive mate. Personally, I've sunk quite a bit of time and money into trying to give all aussie MMO'ers a common point of contact (at the least) and a home if they want it. There's no 'under the guise' about it!
For any other aussies out there - you're not alone and there are guilds to help you out. Hopefully, it won't matter which one you join, as they'll be happily merged soon enough.

Damn straight. This is EQ - talk to guilds privately before going public with the dirty laundry.

At least we completely agree on
the most important thing - that's gotta be worth something, I reckon.
