He became an athiest after his last book, which is based on what he speaks about in these 3 viedos.

Before its publication he was an agnostic.

And he became one, because he was an evangelical historian, who wanted to find unbiased historical evidence of our past to prove it was real.

He did that, and began to see major cracks.

And since then, he kept going, and found enough to decide that it is all just history, and not magical history.

His entire carrier was to reconstruct, it's just after that long journey, he decided it all happened, but in a much more normal way: governance and revolution.

That's equivalent to disassembling a magnificent piece of architecture into a pile of raw materials and then walking away declaring you've built a masterpiece. You see that, right?
