I didn't raid in live, but I raided in EQ2 which I believe was instanced iirc and I enjoyed that just fine.
Maybe it's just me, but for MMOs with just click-your-skills type action, I feel like I much prefer competing against the actual content of the game than trying to compete against fellow players to see who can out neckbeard and out mental illness who.
