I only took anthro 101 for a graduation requirement, at a fairly prestigious American university. I'm sorry that my remark disturbed you so deeply. In truth it was posed as a prompt to see if I could have that query answered which was responded to with anger and revulsion when I proposed it at the University.
I think you are quite mistaken however that hard scientists don't remark upon the softer fields of study with at least joking derision. Might you have studied something soft yourself and absolutized your limited point of view?
