Man, there was this one RPG on the SNES i can't remember the name. You got to choose between like 3 different starting characters and the bosses you meet are sometimes the characters you didn't pick. In any event the game had some ridiculous scaling on the bosses. If you played it through like a normal RPG it would be nearly impossible to beat the bosses, basically.
