I'm not taking it. Every time I got a flu shot in the Army I got sick as fuck for like 5 days or more. Now that I'm out I Haven't got it in almost 10 years, and haven't got the flu yet. I hear it's best to not use anti-biotics too much because your body doesn't learn how to defend itself on it's own. You got "sick" because your body mounted an immune response to the vaccination. That's a good thing.
You don't use antibiotics for viral infections. Antibiotics are often prescribed for patients with covid pneumonia due to other (bacterial) complications.
Antibiotics are necessary to fight a lot of bacterial infections. The reason you take the entire course of antibiotics or shouldn't use them if you don't actually need them is bacteria can build resistance towards antibiotics, making it more difficult to kill them.
