Wouldn't that somewhat depend on the situation? Like... If someone is gonna hit you from behind, if I saw it in time, I'd at least try to get my head back to the neckguard/head cushion for support...

I'll sign that. I have a couple of precautions, including some of those you mentioned, and then also a self-teaching of patience: Every now and then, when I want to get off the highway, I don't overtake "just that one more car" but instead get on the right lane and slow down early. Just to teach myself that the few extra meters aren't worth speeding / doing last second lane changes.

And then I always expect the worst possible behaviour from other drivers / even pedestrians, and drive in a way that would reduce the impact if they really behave accordingly.
