Police and military responses were dissimilar. Planned differently.
BLM violence wasn't encouraged or incited by people with authority sworn to uphold the constitution.

Some of the insurrectionists cited the BLM riots as a justification for insurrection. And rebellion. I watched as some screamed about racism and fearing reparations towards the black community. Maybe a legitimate grievance or fear, I'm not going to debate them, but still not justification for interrupting our constitutional elections and a peaceful transition of power. Especially since none of this stuff exists outside of what ifs and political rhetoric to reach out to voters that want it discussed. I got all this eyewitness from the livestream. It wasn't faked.

White privilege and insecurities are real. We should definitely address them and reassure these people we aren't going to steal their beer money for black reparations. Even if it's just crazy talk.

There's definitely deeply divided racial undercurrents to this violence.
