Another day of wishing I could play a new red server.
I think it would be really cool to add a new class. The Legionnaire. Human. Iksar. Barbarian. Half elf. High elf. Its a pvp only class. Not good in PVE at high levels. It has a shield that stops projectiles, including magic spells, to any friendly character behind it. But they are slowed while their shield is activated. Good at low levels, due to its ability to wear most plate and all chainmail and under. However at higher levels the plate of other classes will start to see itself outshining its own. Mostly good at helping people level to get to high level in any competitive XP race.
The legionnaires are often untrusted by other factions. Though it is foolish for all peoples of Norrath not to use them in their armies, most rulers and cities who put them into service; do not trust them, because they seem loyal to their own way of life and not those who put them into service.
It has an ability to throw up a detector that tells you when an enemy PC character combative is near. Ranger may make this job sound redundant, but in the life of partying while playing EQ and not being an elitists while playing, it may be a nice ability to have. The detector upgrades at specific levels, like spell upgrades, where the ability to detect someone increases. There is a chance, especially at low levels, that an incoming PK may not be detected. The detector will be a beacon that lights up so everyone around can see it.
The Legionnaire also gets the ability to throw a pilum. A short ranged weapon with a cool down. A cross between a ranger bow and a shadowknight death touch.
