Fun story about golf and Trump. A couple years before he ran for President me and two other guys were in a foursome with him in NY. A couple of us were quietly discussing the hole with the caddies while Trump took his shot. He slices it into a water hazard and, thinking we didn’t notice because we were discussing things with the caddies and going over which club to pull from our bags, he pulls a ball out and sets it down again.
When asked if he was just going to hit again for his second shot he responded “what do you mean second shot? This is my first shot.” One of the guys in our foursome goes “uh Donny, that’s your second shot I just watched you hit it into the water, I saw the splash.”
Trump again says that he hasn’t taken a shot yet and he refuses to proceed with the hole or let anyone else swing until everyone agrees that it’s his first shot from that spot. It was kind of wild to deal with that in a group of adults lol. I’ve heard he’s not as much of a cheater if he’s playing at other courses, but if it’s one of his clubs (which this was) he will cheat so that he preserves his handicap at the club. One of his clubs has a sign up on one of the holes that says he hit a hole in one there on opening day...but the sign was put up a month before opening day lol, pretty sad
