I hear what you are saying, and I wouldn't say that a mask does not have situational effectiveness. If I were to walk around a nursing home with immune compromised residents I'd wear one. In general public I don't think it's necessary to wear one. I think the data from Sweden overwhelmingly points to this.

Except you don't know the various health issues that people might have when you're out in public. There's a multitude of health issues that could cause someone to have serious issues with COVID. The studies also show it's (unsurprisingly) dependent on genetics in terms of whether someone who is otherwise completely healthy might die from COVID (or have severe medical consequences from it)...you can't confirm who has what genes when you're in public either. Be fucking considerate and where a mask...maybe my friends and family who passed away (who, by the way, had no pre-existing health issues and all but one were under 40) would still be alive if it wasn't for selfish people like yourself.
