Well, lockdowns are (should be) primarily to stop hospitals being overran. Thats when the deathtoll shoots up. Cutting a life short due to lack of beds/staff means that life loses it’s future productivity and tax contributions, not ideal probs. Government is a stakeholder in keeping people alive to keep sources of tax revenue.
