Even worn properly, the masks most people wear are horse shit. You can literally blow through them and put your hand in front of your face and feel your own breath hitting your hand. N-95's and surgical masks are significantly more effective, but that's not what the vast majority of the public are wearing. It is a completely political, religious purity test at this point.

Increasing distance between spreader and receiver decreased the number of infectious particles inhaled. (Figure 1).

- 37%–50% and 17%–47% decrease in viral load and infectious virus titer, respectively, received when the receiver was masked.
- 60%–71% and 68%–76% decrease in viral load and infectious virus titer, respectively, received when both the spreader and the receiver were masked.
