A sensible employer is going to pay temporarily sick employees to stay at home. They’ll want to protect their productive, healthy staff and customers. They’ll also allow sickdays to be taken separate to other paid time off leave. Staff need to be able to take time off to avoid burnout without fearing loss of income due to future temporary sickness.
Employers are stakeholders in employee welfare not out of altruism but self interest. Employees are (meant to be) profitable so are protected.
